Our Story

Customer Service is our focus

REP was started by a couple entrepreneurs in West Liberty, IA in 2006 and has grown into a successful small business that serves the radon mitigation needs of Eastern Iowa in numerous communities (including Iowa City, Coralville, Cedar Rapids, Washington, Muscatine, etc.) with a daily focus on customer service.

The business has evolved from a small operation out of a garage, to a business with a commercial shop/storefront in Solon, IA (as of 2015) that houses a fleet of vehicles and equipment to quickly meet the radon needs for local Iowans.

John Farlinger

Owner, Certified Mitigator

John Farlinger started the Radon business in 2006 after becoming a state-certified Radon Mitigator. John grew up in West Liberty, Iowa where he was actively involved with the businesses his entrepreneurial parents owned and operated. John later graduated from City High in Iowa City and moved to Highland, Kansas to earn his associates degree while running cross country and track. John then attended Simpson College to complete his bachelor’s degree in Business Management where he began his career in the banking industry. After moving back to the Iowa City area, John found his way into radon through his father’s construction business and quickly applied his management degree to starting a new business When “Radon John” isn’t fighting radon, you can find him on the golf course, playing outside with his kids, biking, boating, or watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, Minnesota Vikings or St. Louis Cardinals.
